The Business

A dog walk and a dog hike are not the same thing.

Woof Hikes collects your dog on a set weekday, takes it out to the trees with five others, and works the whole time it is out there: car manners on the way, leash manners on the path, off-leash hiking, and play that gets interrupted before it tips over into something else.

The rule that makes it work is the one most services do not have. You book a day and you keep it, every week, because a group that changes every time is a crowd rather than a pack. Nothing locks you in and there is no contract to sign, but there is a standing day to hold, and that is the whole method.

Nobody has to be home for any of it. The pick-up and drop-off arrangements get settled at the meet and greet, which happens at your house before anyone commits to anything, and after that the day runs without you.

“Fulfilled, steady, and deeply satisfied.”

What Woof Hikes say comes back through your door, a different animal from a tired one.

What they do

  • Pack hikes, Monday to Friday

Collected and returned at your door in Ajax, Pickering or Whitby. Year round, rain or shine.

  • A meet and greet first

At your house, before anybody signs anything, so they see the dog and you see them.

  • Five days, and second dogs

It gets cheaper if you book all five days, and cheaper again for a second dog. They publish that packages exist rather than what they cost, so ask them.

  • No contract

Weekly or monthly billing, on e-transfer or whichever card you already carry. There is a standing day to hold and nothing to sign.

  • E-gift cards

For the neighbour whose dog is climbing the walls.

The things people ask

Answered from their own published pages. Anything not covered here is a question for them, not for us.

Does somebody have to be home?

No. Pick-up and drop-off get arranged at the meet and greet and the day runs without you after that.

Do they go out in February?

Yes. Weekdays, all year, rain or shine, is their own line.

What do they need before the first hike?

A signed waiver and proof of vaccination, plus the meet and greet at your house.

Am I locked in?

There is no contract. There is a standing weekday to hold, which is the part that makes a pack a pack rather than a crowd.

Is my street inside the area?

They run Ajax, Pickering and Whitby door to door, both ways. If you are not sure, ask them.
