What the GTA says so far

  • The distance. Two places both "in Toronto" can be ninety minutes apart.35%

Why we’re asking

Somebody arrives, from Lahore, from Halifax, from Sudbury, from the next county over, and spends a year learning the things the guides do not say. This is a place to write them down.

Everybody gets the scale wrong. Everybody assumes the subway goes where they are going. Everybody spends the first winter thinking the restaurants are on King Street and the second in a strip mall on Lawrence East. Everybody mistakes the pace for the temperature.

Vote for the biggest one, and put yours in the responses. The good ones will end up in the guides.
